You may wonder why I call myself sadstampcollector, well that's my lovely wife's fault, she gets a little upset with me, for spending money on sticky bits of paper, when we go traveling I'm always on the look out for Stamp shops.
I also spend a lot of time on the Internet looking for stamps, get a life you sad person she would say, hence the name sadstampcollector.
With any collecting interest you need some idea on what you want to collect and you really need to stick with that idea, the reason for this is cost, over the years. I have collected one country, flowers on stamps, birds on stamps, in fact anything that came my way, all collected at the same time.
My collection looked more like a collage of different coloured sticky labels mounted in an album rather than a stamp album it should have been and at times cost a lot of money, with no real emphasis on what I was collecting.
So I bought a few books and catalogues on stamp collecting and that is when I decided to collect birds on stamps.
Please take a look at my collection, there's no point in collecting something if you can't show it to other interested collectors.
